Head over heels for the cause.

I saw this fundraiser as a way to get active, entice others to be active, and have some fun while we're at it. This morning was a perfect opportunity for it, and my friend - who wasn't sure if she could manage 10kms - walked, talked, and completed it with me in less than two hours. Movement isn’t just about fitness—it’s about connection, encouragement, and showing up for each other. That’s why this fundraiser feels so fitting. The Royal Flying Doctor Service shows up every single day. Whether it’s delivering urgent medical care, running fly-in clinics, or supporting isolated communities with health outreach, they move toward people who need help—no matter how far away they are. Today, we walked to echo that mission: steady, joyful, and together.

Just over 10 mins, just over 1.2 kms... every 'just' adds up.

This fundraiser is a chance to rebuild, reconnect, and put one foot in front of the other for a good cause. The Royal Flying Doctor Service delivers medical assistance to people across rural Australia, including remote areas that are difficult to reach. It wasn't much today, but it was a start. Especially after 13 weeks of sickness that has been topped off with influenza A. Being sick has been tough, but it's been tough in a home that's only a few minutes away from the hospital. For many people across rural Australia, that kind of access isn’t possible. That's why this fundraiser is so important. All steps taken will help build strength, and all distances travelled will help further with this fundraiser. Slow and steady wins the race, as they say!

Sunlit Paths and Open Hearts: One Purpose, Different Pathways

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!

Well done Kathryn. RFD flew our 25 week 4 days pregnant daughter from Dalby, safely to Brisbane, 17 years ago last week, where her twin boys were delivered the next day.
