Day 25

A nice early cold start today as I had to get the kms in before going on shift. certainly missing the warmer weather, nearly time to hit the road again.

Day 23

I hit the wall today took me so long to get a few kms under my belt. on ambulance duty 6am-6pm meant I couldn’t go far so it was doing laps of the agricultural society oval. Which by the way is where the RFDS helicopter lands. tomorrow is a new day

Day 21

hectic busy day today with St John Ambulance. We did a combined simex with other emergency services involved. The day is about educating year 10 students the dangers that they may face once they get their licence and how easily life can be altered with the blink of an eye.

Day 20

Up bright and early for the gym which was unfortunately cancelled. Figured I was awake so I would get my kms done. Freezing, the don’t call it Fridgetown for nothing.

Day 18

What a big day today. We had a recruitment drive for St John Amhulance in Bridgetown today which meant an early start and hectic few hours. hopefully we have recruited a few new members. We had Kura Bear come along for a visit which the kids loved. I am so proud of the Ambulance team that have joined me in raising money for the RFDS, initial goal was $1500, we have now passed the $3000 mark. a huge shout out to those who have donated, we appreciate you x

Day 17

Early Early start today 5am. I was on ambulance duty till 6am so couldn’t go far from my car so did 14 laps around the sun centre block and managed just over 5kms. off to work now. have a fabulous Friday everyone.

Day 15

14 laps of the skate/bike park for me today while my grandson rode and jumped his little heart out. It’s days like these I savour, spending time with our littlest loves while we are home for a few weeks.

Dawesville parkrun

great day at Dawesville with my daughter in law who never says no to running for a good cause ! I hope I brought some awareness to the PARKRUN organisers to get onboard with this RDFS fundraiser

Dawesville parkrun

yay ! 5 k towards my 87 kms goal for October ! I hope PARKRUN picks up the baton to encourage walkers and runners to fundraise and donate to RDFS

Dawesville parkrun

part of my ks for fundraising for RDFS . please keep giving ! thank you to my daughter in law Brigitte for never saying No to running for a good cause! I really hope PARKRUN picks up the baton to encourage walkers and runners to take up the 87 kms challenge for October

Day 13

Worked this morning and on Ambulance Duty from noon today until 6am so can’t walk far from my car so laps around the driveways was called for today. not many kms but still just enough.

Day 12

Celebrated our grandsons 5th Birthday at the park today so I took the opportunity to walk around in circles to get my kms done today.

Day 11

The struggle was real today. Managed to get a walk in after a few hours in the ambulance. nothing like a bit of fresh air to clear the head. I have all the grandies here at the moment, now to see who want to walk with me by the river tomorrow.

Day 7

An early start today 4.55am to get my k’s done before going on call for the day. Just a tad chilly. thanks again everyone for your support.

Walking update

just so everyone knows that I only record my dedicated walks and not the amount I walk each day as shown on my fit but

Day 6

Spent the night in Pingelly and this morning kidnapped the grandsons dog for a walk. poor thing was exhausted when we got back.

Day 5

Yoday was a big no go. it was our final day at the Desert Races on a dry clay bed. We had rain overnight which turned everywhere to a boggy mess, I found out the hard way and sunk ankle deep in clay.

Day 4

Still at Lake Perkolili enjoying the early morning bush and race track walks. a cooler day today which will be nice. Had a few lovely people give me some cash to add to the kitty.

Day 3

Well that was an interesting walk today. grandson said there was a dam about 500mt from where we turned around yesterday. hmmmm I walked at least 1.2 km in the direction he said and there was no dam in sight. My foot will remind me later that I should not have taken his directions seriously lol

Day 2

Went for a bush walk this morning with our oldest grandson PJ who has joined us at the Red Dust Revival.

Day 1

A nice early start for me today at Lake Percolilli Red Dust Revival. A walk around the clay pan race track before putting on my St John Ambulance hat and hoping on with the Kalgoorlie Crew for the day.

So worthy

I have been an St John Anbulance volunteer in southwest WA for over 33 years. I’ve had first hand experience dealing with ten RFDS service for my patients and cannot stress the importance of this service for regional patients/people. please support as able to keep the doctor flying 💕

We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!

Thank you to our supporters
