We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
We're taking on Oceans to Outback in memory of our grandfather, who spent his working life caring for people in rural and remote Australia. As an ambulance bearer and radiographer, he served the outback towns around Longreach, often on call for plane transfers that carried critically ill and injured patients to the care they needed. He knew firsthand what it meant for a community to have someone show up when it mattered most, and how much distance, and time, could cost a life in the bush.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service carries on that same work today: reaching the people that geography makes hardest to reach. Every dollar we raise helps keep a plane in the air and a crew ready to go, for families living the same isolation our grandfather spent his career answering.
This challenge is for him, for the towns he served, the patients he helped carry, and the quiet, tireless work he never asked for recognition for. We're proud to keep that going, one leg of this journey at a time.
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!
