The finish line

I'd like to thank our team Oceans 11 for doing their best to raise money for such a great cause, and clocking those kilometres. I'd also like to thank my family and friends for supporting me on this journey and donating to my fundraiser. Never in a million years did I think I could raise over $1000. I am beyond excited for those who will receive the much needed care. I am proud to be a part of Oceans to Outback to keep the RFDS flying 💪

Day 31 gippsland

Back in Gippsland with a walk around the wetlands with my two nephews to say hello to all the birds, and a trip to Victoria Park and Newman Park.

Day 28 albert park

Tje sun is shining so I have made the most of it. Laps of the Tan and Lake. Exploring the streets of Albert Park down to the bay and back.

Day 26 & 27 home

I have spent the last 3 days hiding inside from the wild weather that swept across the state. It was the R&R I didn't know I needed. A long overdue massage and plenty of Netflix.

Day 25 home

A day of rest at home all to myself. It has been lovely. I will play catch-up during the week.

Day 24 central gippsland

A day spent with family and friends. Also a working bee in my parents gardens.

Day 23 melbourne city

A lap around the Tan with Bridgette and Maple, followed by a walk into the city along each side of the Yarra River.

Day 22 albert park lake & south melbourne markets

Once the storm passed i made a mad dash for the Lake. Saw those beautiful swans and ducks with their precious babies. Such a special time of year.

Day 21 melbourne

An epic day of walking. Smashed my PB and walked a total of 31.23kms. Thank you to Bridgette and Emily for joining me. 2 x laps of the Tan. 1 x lap of Albert Park Lake. Exploring the Royal Botanic Gardens. 18 x holes at Albert Park Golf Course.

Day 19 travelling home

Just a short walk along Lake this morning before making the long trip home back to Melbourne.

Day 18 lakes entrance

Lakes Entrance has epic sunrises. I am so glad i chose this morning to get up early to enjoy the show that unfolded before my eyes. After a few trips down the street from one end of the esplanade to other, it was easy to clock up steps. My nephews certainly kept me busy.

Day 17 family day

Day 15 st kilda & port melbourne

It was beautiful sunny day so I opted for a walk to the Bay along Albert Park Lake to St Kilda Pier. From St Kilda Pier to Port Melbourne it was time to kick off my shoes and make the most of this gorgeous sunshine with my feet in the water. Shoes on and headed for the South Melbourne markets to pick up some fresh fruit. Epic solo day in the sun. 15kms on the clock.

Day 10, 11, & 12 home

With limited time the past few days preparing the apartment for warmer weather, I have enjoyed leisurely walks close to home with my neighbour and her beautiful little dachshund, Maple. Sometimes it's good to stop and smell the roses, and other days on the hunt for a new destination to explore.

Day 9 albert park lake

A quick lap around the Tan followed by a lap around the Lake. I was lucky enough to see some baby ducklings. Vert sweet.

Day 8 the tan

A lap around the Tan with my neighbour.

Week 1 - 75kms

On track to meet my 300km target 👣 This weeks journey has taken me from East Gippsland, to the Mornington Peninsula, and beyond. I haven't done this all on my own. Walking with family and friends helps motivate me to keep going. Making it a social catch-up while clocking those kms. Where to next?

Day 7 south melbourne

I was greeted this morning by the lovely Miss Maple (dachshund). So Bridgette and I opted for a shorter 3km walk through Kings Domain. I later decided to walk to Port Melbourne because it was a lovely sunny day and perfect for a beach stroll. I enjoy exploring the many beautiful streets of Albert Park and South Melbourne. Rich in history. Unfortunately, I didn't realise my app wasn't tracking the additional 3kms I had already walked to Gasworks Studios. Hence the additional 3kms I have added to today's journey.

Day 6 southbank

5am start with 2 x laps of the Tan. One solo. One with my neighbour. Decided to talk myself for an afternoon stroll around Southbank. A place I once walked with my beloved dog everyday. A lot has changed since I last walked these paths. More flowers and gardens. New buildings. Others torn down. I do love living in Southbank.

Day 5 point nepean national park

We decided to drive down to the Mornington Peninsula to meet up with some of the team. We explored the Point Nepean National Park. Stunning location with lots of history.

Day 4 royal botanic gardens melbourne

A quick trip to South Melbourne followed by a beautiful sunny stroll around the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Yarra River.

Day 3 albert park golf course

A quick walk to South Melbourne for some much needed essentials. Spent the afternoon down at Albert Park Lake while my husband played golf.

Day 2 metung

Kicked off the day with a walk along Seaview Drive in Kalimna for some stunning views of Lakes Entrance. Made my way to Metung and stoopped at Chinaman's Creek. Stolled down to Shaving Point and back along the boardwalk.

Day 1 lakes entrance

A quick walk into town at sunrise to kick-start my day. Followed by an afternoon along Hummocks walk.

Counting down the hours until Day 1 of Oceans to Outback. I have my outfit packed and I am ready to go. Mapping out my first 10km walk in beautiful Lakes Entrance, East Gippsland, Victoria.

We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!

Thank you to our supporters
