New member to the mount isa dare devils!

Welcome Karra to the Dare Devils! Karra is from Mount Isa and has done the Oceans to Outback for some years now since her family had to call upon them in their time of emergency. Karra will be walking, cycling, (line dancing apparently) and in true Mount Isa spirit; horse riding her way through the month of October, for the RFDS. Please support her personal pledge and commitment to the Flying Doctors.

Time to catch up.

I have been out of action with a bad flu and chest infection. Feeling much better for the first time so Jack and I did a 5km run/walk today. Back in Mount Isa, we walked across town to a favourite park where we met Paula with water and a footy. Yay! We will need to do a lot of these runs every day we have available and some bigger runs to come.

Start rfds oceans to outback at cairns

Hi folks, we managed to kick off our trek from the ocean as we were already there for a football carnival for Jack and his mates. We ticked off 15.6kms on the 2nd of October, which mainly consisted of walking with some running. We had just got a bit of a bug, so we were quite happy with this achievement. It was a hot and long trip but helped Jack learn about the importance of staying strong in the mind and how powerful a positive mindset can be. Unfortunately the sickness kicked in over the following days and flattened us for a week or more. We have some catching up to do!

starting soon 👍

We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!
